Bottle Tower Gardens: Project Case Study

By Ian Salamanca
Editor-in-Chief.

As I mentioned earlier today, Urban Agriculture is an important topic i'm glad I have the ability to discuss. One key factor of most major cities is a lack of space.  Often time people barely have enough space for themselves, much less the ability to plant in either soil or roof.  This leaves us with only one way to go; UP!

Professor Willem Van Cotthem has produced some stunning results in a mere 2.3 meter footprint.  Growing a plethora of species using his Bottle Tower Method, and creating an innovative sand filtration system.  This project has not only worked, but produce better results than a typical 'horizontal' garden. I'm truly inspired by this and can't wait to try it out!

Below is the video showcasing the progress once completed. (Click HERE if the video isn't loading.) And you can find the step-by-step guide here on Containergardening.wordpress.  I hope to bring you some progress on our own vertical gardening projects soon!

Well thank you for reading, I hope you will follow us and check out our curation on Friday!  If this inspired you to create your own we would love to see the results! Or if you know someone who'd like to give it a shot please share!

Have a great day!
